One of the hardest things about learning a foreign language is how bad it can make us feel about our relationship with our own language. Let’s face it, outside of high school English when was the last time you needed to think about nouns, verbs, pronouns, adverbs, etc.?
As a cultural studies professor who specializes on Latin America – a region defined by cultural and linguistic diversity, I love studying grammar because they are the rules of the game that my favorite writers and thinkers then work to bend and sometimes break.
